Philadelphia Flyers at Buffalo Sabres

  1. The Flyers beat the Lightning, 6-2, on Monday and have now won two straight overall. Philadelphia has scored six goals three times in 2009-10 -- tied with the Kings for most in hockey.
  2. Buffalo shut out the Islanders, 3-0, on Wednesday and split the home-and-home series with New York after losing 5-0 on Halloween in Long Island. The Sabres have won five of six overall.
  3. This is these clubs' first meeting of the season -- Philadelphia swept four games from Buffalo in 2008-09, outscoring the Sabres by a combined 20-9 in the process.
  4. Scott Hartnell has lit the lamp in three straight games for the Flyers after netting just one goal in his first nine skates of 2009-10. Hartnell's goal-scoring streak is currently the longest active in the league.
  5. Ryan Miller has a record of 9-1-1 and leads all NHL starting goalies with a 1.69 GAA and .941 save percentage thus far. Miller's 3-0 shutout on Wednesday was the 14th of his career, moving him into a tie for third all-time in Sabres history with Don Edwards.
  6. With a goal against Tampa Bay, David Laliberte has now lit the lamp in each of his first two NHL contests. The last Flyer to accomplish that feat was Eric Lindros in 1992. No Philadelphia skater has ever scored a goal in his first three NHL games.
